Events Overview!

Our Events Division has been in place ever since the opening of Cayman Airways Virtual. Although our Real World counterpart has no Events Division, it is vital that we do. The Events Division is responsible for maintaining an environment that will educate, comfort and facilitate newcomers and experienced pilots whilst flying online. We do this by hosting weekly events where our pilots come together fly on Vatsim and communicate on TeamSpeak whilst flying. We provide a place and time for our community activates where we develop our knowledge and understanding of fellow pilots, and aircraft. The Events Division also host a monthly screenshot competition for our pilots to share their own edited, and unedited photos of flying the: Set Theme, or Event.

Event Guidelines

- We kindly ask all pilot willing to fly our events to show up with the proper; Aerodrome Charts, Aircraft Procedural Manuals and, Sufficient Flight Information for the flight.
- You must have sufficient knowledge of the aircraft that you’ll be operating during the event.
- We also ask that you take the time to thoroughly brief yourself of the flight, and what you’re expected to do during flight, to minimise the space for pilot errors due to lack of preparation! Not only that, but we also require you to have information on hand of the aerodrome of departure, and arrival. This includes Arrival and Departure Charts, Airport Diagrams, and a Navigational Aid.
- Carefully review the weather conditions and flight conditions in correspondence to the current and possibly changing weather.

These are just a set of basic pre-flight preparations that must be done before the flight to increase the efficiency of the flight, so please set aside a sufficient amount of time to do so.

Events Staff Overview

The Cayman Airways Virtual Events Division has a sufficient amount of staff members to ensure we never have an absence of events, all of these staff members maintain the highest quality possible. Our Events staff is expected to plan and organise events, as well as announcing them with enough time for our pilots to plan to take part. They are also expected to be at their planned events on the day of the events, and if they cannot make it kindly ask another event staff member to do so. FlyCay pilots are expected to review our weekly events, and mark these days on their calendar. We want the most amount of pilots possible to attend our events to show their appreciation of our events. We also expect pilots to perform in a professional manner when flying these events as they’re representing Cayman Airways Virtual, and foremost, Cayman Airways.
