View Full Version : Virtual Airline Partnership

Hey guys.
I think we should have fly-in events similar to the Saturday Scramble that United Virtual, USA Airways, and Air Canada Virtual have.
Basically, they have a virtual alliance between tthe three of them. The three CEO's sit down and plan a list of destinations that they all fly to. During the week, they advertise for the special travel destination to be done that Saturday on Vatsim.
When I flew in it, there was about 30 aircrafts at our destination airport, and about half or more of them were from on of those three airlines. It was really fun, and I think it has a lot of potential.
If you guys are interested, I think you should post a topic about it on VAFS forums. There is always a list of VA's that want to have a partnership. In fact, I know of one of the top of my head looking for such a partnership. Let me know what you guys think.
Sincerly,
EJ

EJ,
When you say VASF forums, I believe you mean Vatsim forums which I read regularly. I have been thinking past weeks to say the same thing that you suggest. Smiling
I have seen plenty of Vatsim events every day and think it would be good idea for Jon and his VA to participate in one of Vatsim events to achieve his aim to get his VA noticed by Vatsim community.
May I suggest that Jon's VA should participate in March 21st's Caribbean Vatsim event as seen below quoted from Vatsim forums:
ts still snowing, its still very cold, so why not come down and join us in the Piarco FIR for a "Caribbean Retreat." At this time of the year, most people like to get away from the cold weather and the caribbean is the best place to experience that nice, warm weather.
Three airports will be featured in this event, Grantley Adams Int'l(TBPB), Piarco Int'l(TTPP) and Crown Point Int'l(TTCP). Whether you want to fly VFR,IFR, ILS Approaches, NDB Approaches, VOR Approaches or Visual Approaches; we have it all.
All the stocks will be pulled out and the airports will be fully staffed. Pilots are welcomed to fly into and out of these airports.
Don't miss this Caribbean Retreat!!
Date: March 21st, 2009
Time: 1400Z-2000Z
What do all of you think? It would be cool for Vatsim community to see the flying squadron formation of Cayman Airways virtual airline planes coming to those airports as force of reckon!!!
Regards,
Aharon

Aharon,
We are thinking along the same lines. But, what i am saying that is a little different is a definte partnership. Not one of those events where any airline can join. Where three or four airlines have decided which places to fly and when to fly.
And thanks for the correction. I did mean VATSIM, although there is also some airlines looking for partnerships on the VAFS forum

Which Virtual Airlines would we team up with? It wouldn't be much use forming an alliance with like China Airlines! Sounds like an interesting idea though.

I do not think we need to team up with other airlines to stage event. We just participate in one of Vatsim events like I mentioned previously to show the force of Cayman Airways Virtual airline.
For example, if there is a official Vatsim event using KMIA as airport, we should participate to show our presence.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL that was a joke right? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
We would never team up with Air Jamaica or any airline in the Caribbean. I hope that you understand that we are not under best terms with the Jamaicans at this time. As such, I view your suggestion to team up with them as treasonous at most. It simply is not correct to team up with an airline who we have faults with, and who we are competing against for revenue, and passengers. Such thoughts, undermine the basis for which Cayman Airways Virtual was founded- to provide the best quality service in a virtual environment. We have seen how the Virtual Air Jamaica runs its airline, and frankly it is disastrous. If we are seen fraternizing with them, it will lead others to infer that we believe that it is acceptable, to run a VA the way that Air Jamaica does- and that by itself would be an inconsistency to our high standards.

I do not think there is no way, past, present, nor future, will this virtual airline parnership with Virtual Air Jamaica. LMAO
However Delta or BWIA/Caribbean Airlines is a good suggestion though thumbup.....

I don't get it, what happened with Air Jamaica?
Surely it doesn't matter if we compete with anyone, EJ said it is between VAs with similar destinations and routes so AJM would be good if it wasn't so rubbish. Caribbean Airlines is a good suggestion too, what about Winar for short prop flights (is there even a Winar VA?)

Why do we need to team up with other virtual airlines??? I do not get it??
All the Cayman Airways virtual airline needs to do is to go to events section of vatsim website and pick one of the events to participate without teaming up with other virtual airlines.

We aren't on the subject of events here, this is nothing to do with event's on Vatsim. This is to do with sharing fleets, routes, partnerships with other virtual pilots and crew.

We already participate with Vatsim when they host events.

Well, Jon the cool CEO,
Your virtual airline have already partnered with two virtual airlines: North American Airlines and American Airlines (AA).
And so far I do no see how those partnerships are benefiting all of us CAY pilots???

I don't think we are associated with them any more, we are totally independent, and probably should be.
Quite a discussion you've started EJ! Look at this:

Shalom Guy,
I agree with you that we should be independent and not associated with other VAs except I think we can be partnered with DHL VA because in real world, Cayman Airways is using DHL as freighter service.
And as for your opinion that we are not associated with North American Airlines and American Airlines (AA), I believe Cayman Airways virtual airline is still partnered with those two airlines as seen on the hyperlink:
http://www.flycay.com/affiliates.php
and this info is fairly new as I read all webpages of FLYCAY website periodically and am surprised by new information about the two VAs.

Aharon

We are affiliated with North American Airlines and American Airlines virtual. Both are found on the IVAO network only, we operate on the Vatsim network. We are simply promoting their airlines as the CEO is a personal friend of mine, we do not share routes, nor fleet. We are simply promoting eachother for the sake of friendship. As for DHL, we no longer operate with them in the real world, therefore a partnership with them wouldn't be necessary.

Sorry I did not get back to this topic in a while. Now, I am relatively new to Cayman Airways (just about a week) and I have been with a form of a Virtual Air Jamaica on and off for the past year. Now, I have no idea what happaned between you and Virtual AJ, but I think i need to be clear on this.
I am suggesting Caribean Partnerships where caribbean airliners help each other out. This has nothing to do with real life feelings.
By far this comment is annoying to me, and i dont think it is such a bad idea to partner with Virtual Air Jamaica. However, i respect your personal oppinion, and i am sorry to hear you feel that Virtual Air Jamaica is disastorus at best.
As far as my motives behind this, I want to see a suscesful group of Caribbean airlines flying with one another united, despite diversity.
However, from the looks of some responses, it looks like a few dont share the same motives or beliefs I do.
Thanks for all your comments guys, and I am glad that so many are interested in it.
Sincerly,
EJ

We have been trough the whole discussion of VAs alliance since the start of FlyCay (2) years ago I dont see the need for an alliance, FlyCay has been and still is growing into the one of the most successful VAs out there, beacuse of the time and effort of the staff team and it's members has put into it.
