Hi all,
Cayman Airways has plans to buy 2 Saab 2000 aircraft for service from Cayman Brac to destiation in south Florida. This will mean that the jet will no longer serve the Brac. Also, the Saabs are supposed to be used to and from Little Cayman when the runway is lengthened. In my opinin Saab 2000s seem a little big for thin routes from the Brac but i guess it is all to keep the Braccers happy... What are your thoughts on this?
Also, will Cayman Airways Virtual be getting Saab 2000s? They would look awesome in the new livery!

Once the real world airline aquires them, we will add them. I'll be down at MWCR when I can to check in and catch the latest. We will offer the same routes and same scheme as used real world. I also think they are a bit.. large to keep the 11 people on the Brac happy. But anyway, neat aircraft, good models for them for FS and as you say, should look good in our livery so you can bet once we get them real world they will be added virtually very quickly. ;)

Just read on Airliners.net that Cayman Airways are no longer getting the Saabs. Maybe it's something we said...

I wonder what they will get, if anything?

They announced last week at the opening celebration for VP-CKW that the SAAB's would be introduced in November or late this year. (I seem to remember) This source.. not entirely sure how accurate and reliable it is but until I see something from the CEO or other staff memebers from CAY confirming this, we will still be getting them. If they decide not to purchase them, I would be very curious as too what they would get.

Exactly how did you "Knew that long time"? The news from airliners.net is only 3 days old. Also, why would they change their mind all of a sudden considering the staff very high in the hierarchy of Cayman Airways were announcing the acquisition of these aircraft only a little while ago? I doubt the reliability of these posts highly, however would be interested to know of a substitution if the SAAB's don't pull through. Perhaps an ATR

If all news originated from airliners.net, I think the airline industry would be operating out of a flea market.

What I am saying is how can you have known that the airline is no longer getting the SAAB's, for weeks if the real Cayman Airways staff said that the SAAB's are coming only last week!
