Shalom and greetings all my pals,

I watched the program EXTREME AIRPORTS presented by History channel last night and enjoyed it very much but one biggest disappointment with this show is that it omitted Paro airport as one of most dangerous airports to land!!!! Paro is definitely one of ten most dangerous airports to land!!!!

According to this interesting documentary program, the most dangerous airports in order are as seen below (bold format indicates that I had flown to on OF COURSE FSX and Vatsim:

10th most dangerous airport in the world: KSAN San Diego int'l airport
9th most dangerous airport in the world: Aeroporto da Madeira
8th most dangerous airport in the world: KEGE Eagle County Vail airport
7th most dangerous airport in the world: Chourchevel airport
6th most dangerous airport in the world: Kai Tak airport
5th most dangerous airport in the world: Gibraltar airport
4th most dangerous airport in the world: TNCM St Marteen airport
3rd most dangerous airport in the world: St Barth's airport
2nd most dangerous airport in the world: Toncontin airport
1st most dangerous airport in the world: Lukla airport

I am very disappointed that they omited Paro airport!!!!!

And Jon, are you listening??w00tw00t Do you smell excitement and challenge of flying into and out of KEGE from KLAS or KLAX??? Why not having KEGE and KSAN on AmeriCay routes?

Regards,

Aharon

Hey Aharon,

Firstly a big thank-you for the heads up of the program. I recorded it, watched it this morning, and a very interesting program it was! I was also a little surprised by a few of the airports selected, and where they were placed on the list from 1-10, but still, very enjoyable. As soon as I saw Eagle County and San Diego I thought of AmeriCay, you can count on seeing service to them soon.

Good fun!

Shaoom Jon,

Thanks for concuring with me. I flew into KSAN San Diego via FSX few times and it had one of most gorgeous approaches to runway of all airports!!! When you approach from Pacific ocean from flying from north like KSEA or something, you have to fly toward high mountains behind San Diego and then make 180 right degree turn to KSAN which will take you to extremely scenic view of San Diego office buildings. If you look at left side, you will see few landmarks such as baseball staduim, famous hotels, and aircraft carriers.

Try to find my screenshot report on FSW and you will see well detailed description of my KSAN runway approach.

If you want your pilots to face excitement and extreme challenge of approaching airport in America for your AmeriCay, check out KPSP Palms Spring Airport. This airport requires you to keep eye on the airport and its runway all the time while making 180 degree turns toward it. It is quite challenge to juggle between airport runway and instrumental panels while texting to vatsim controllers but I managed successful landing. I have screenshots and video waiting to be published.

Spain's refusal to let any English airline to use Spanish airspace to approach Gibraltor amuses me.

I did not know that Cayman Islands have access to all tv channels in America.

Thats just how pathetic some countries can be, us and spain have fought over that little bit of land for years so its not surprising tbh. Its also interesting to note its one of only a few class A airports, meaning absolutely no VFR under any circumstances.

Hey Aharon,

As soon as I saw Eagle County and San Diego I thought of AmeriCay, you can count on seeing service to them soon.

Good fun!

Yo Jon,

It looks like that someone is answering your prayers!! Check out this announcement as seen below:

Join the ZDV ARTCC on a wonderful Saturday evening on Oct 16 2300-0100Z for an Aspen Airport (ASE) feature night! Denver International Airport (DEN) will also be staffed.

Aspen is one of North America's most challenging fields to fly into and out of. It is an airport placed between two mountain ridges in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. At a large glidepath decent angle of up to 10 degrees (depending on the approach flown), there is no ILS. We recommend trying the Roaring Fork Visual Approach for a scenic challenge.

Ten degrees??????? That is a lot deeper than approach to London City airport!!!

So you up for this challenge as part of event for AmeriCay??? I do not know who is in charge of AmeriCay division so I am suggesting this idea to you.

If you want to know what it is like to take off from Aspen as I am sure you would recall from that tv program that take offs require sharp left turn to avoid mountains, take look at this video of other airport take off offering similiar scenerio that you will find at Aspen:
