Latin VFR: La Paz Bolivia “El Alto”

Bolivia’s main city is La Paz, and is presently the administrative seat of government. The metropolitan area has more than 2.4 million people. Its only airport is called “ El Alto” named after the town of the same name which is perhaps named after the elevation of this town which is more than 4050 meters above sea level in comparison with the city of La Paz which sits at 3600 meters.

La Paz “El Alto” International Airport is currently one of the highest commercial airports in the world because of its airfield altitude of 4058 meters (13225 feet) above sea level it’s a very complex and difficult airport to operate to/from. The runway allows compensating a bit of the altitude because it has a 4000 meter runway, nonetheless flights farther to the north than Lima Peru are not common since weight restrictions and the possibility of running short of runway makes it impossible because of the height of the airport. Currently aircraft manufacturers test their new aircraft in El Alto so that they can test aircraft performance in high altitude airports.

We made it possible to recreate El Alto airport, the city and surroundings for the highest level of reality.

Within this scenery package you will have:

* SLLP (IATA:LPB.) airport with all its buildings done with accurate detail.
* Surroundings extremely detailed city of El Alto, and the skyline of La Paz.
* More than 250 sq Kilometers of photo scenery with thousands of hand placed custom autogen

* High resolution ground textures for runways, taxiways, apron etc.
* Revised land classes for surrounding photo scenery.

Hi Ricardo,
I just want to thank you sooo much for making the scenery for El Alto. I am extremely pleased about the way it turned out. It is so amazing to see how realistic you have developed this scenery. You not only dedicated your accurate details of the airport, but, also, to the complete surroundings. I am amazed to see the street vehicles movement. Cars coming and leaving the airport. the landscaping of the airport and all of its support materials are all included. The derelict airplanes....wow!, just amazing.. It has been a long time since I left la Paz, and looking at the scenery of the city scape is as if I was there again. Nothing has escaped you as far the detail is concerned. Your scenery is the best I have ever seen in a long time and it has been well worth the time time we waited for it. I appreciate your mention me and I can only tell you that I will continue to be your number one scenery fan.
best of luck to you and to your team.thumbup rockon captain1

Thanks Hernan.

By the way, I forgot to mention thanks to Tom Gibson for allowing under license the usage of his derelict aircraft model. Thanks so much for being always available to us.

And to Gerome Bodden, who made those liveries so wonderful work, made them exact as they were in real life! Thanks Gerome! rockon
