It's a great idea, makes everything look very professional! Why are some smaller than others though? Also, I just looked at the members list and only a few have them not everyone, is it just the active members?

It is just the active users yes, as for different sizes I could not tell you. Every single one is taken using the exact same image, so how it renders some differently is beyond me.
