I was recently browsing the latest photos on Airliners.net with the keyword 'cayman' and this came up: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Untitled-(Cayman-Islands/Airbus-A319-133X-CJ/1462278/L/&tbl=photo_info&photo_nr=1&sok=keyword_%28%5C%27%2B%5C%22cayman%5C%22%5C%27_I N_BOOLEAN_MODE%29%29_&sort=_order_by_photo_id_DESC_&prev_id=&next_id=1458404

It is an A320 bizjet photographed in Larnaca under a Cayman registration the photographer has called it 'Untitled(Cayman Islands Government)' Does the CI Gov't really have an A320 all to themselves and if they do then why not help Cayman Airways out and let them use it?

(Also, go look at Jon's recent photos of other bizets in GCM, they are amazing!)

I think this chap got confused by the VP registration. The Government here can't afford a dingy, let alone an Airbus. It is quite common these days for biz jets and the like to be registered here, and I think there was just a slight misconception by the photographer.

Would have been nice though!

Ah, OK. Thanks Jon, maybe it's Michael Schumacher's?

I know he has a plane registered in Cayman. What I don't understand is how this A340-600 can be registered in GCM, it can't even land there! It is VP-CCC owned by National Air Services.

Tax purposes. Either that or one of the plethora of banks located in the Caymans has an aircraft leasing branch.

Yea, The same individual has an A320 which I spotted here a while back, got a photo on jetphotos of that I believe. The aircraft doesn't have to land here to be registered here ;)

Normally aircraft that are registered here have to visit the island to get full registration done by the CAA. however aircraft companies like National Air Services were able to pay a little extra to get the CAA over to France to do all the work and get all the aircraft registered for the Cayman Islands. This particular A319 was down in Cayman late 2006 early 2007 in a full white confit before she went on her ways to become someones little babybus!

National Air Serivces own VP-CMS, an A320 painted exactly the same as its bigger brother. Jon has some shots of that when it came down a few years ago to GCM, maybe for the same CAA certification or vacation or maybe both!

Anyways, Michael Schumacher does not have a VP-C business jet, his is HB-JEG and is operated by Comlux Aviation Luxembourg and flies around as "CLA18". He was actually here in Costa Rica last week:
