I think that we should have a 707 for cargo....its a very classic and useful CARGO aircraft.. And it would go along nicely with the 727

No, why in the world would Cayman Airways buy a 707, a plane which has since been retired by all operators save maybe 10 relatively low-income middle eastern airlines? It's pretty much impractical. In addition, old planes like that are no longer efficient for today's means. I don't mean to be unkind, but it really wouldn't make sense.

Good point, however, as you have said in the passed. A virtual airline need not mimic real world airlines, in ever aspect, nor real world problems. So this way, we can basically aquire any aircraft we want, and to be honest, if there is the demand for a route, or demand for an aircraft, regardless of the efficiency, or the feasability, if the demand is their, we will add it. Unfortunately I haven't seen enough demand for the 707 to consider it yet, considering we have over 50 pilots, and less then 5 pushing for the 707, some recruiting will need to be done. I will start enforcing activeness in the forums by our pilots soon to ensure we get a more accurate consensus and more positive feedback from all pilots on future decisions that will affect the airline.

Right, I don't want our connection to the real-world airline to stop the growth of the VA, but there aren't a whole lot of options for the 707 and not a whole lot of demand.

the 707 isnt really a popular aircraft, especially not popular for a cargo plane.... the 727 cargo is good enough and the one of the best cargo planes for a Caribbean virtual airline

I like the Idea of the B707.....I also see your point Gareth but this is a VA and pilots need options so I say that we keep the core aircraft and routes as the realworld airline also add our own custom routes/aircraft.

Frankly the thought of any airline based out of such a small group of islands needing three different types of Cargo Planes is pretty ridiculous to me.

I would agree with Gray here, and I think we should look at the PAX planes instead of the freight planes, like express fleet, main line, but lets leave cargo alone, plus there is very low demand on the cargo fleet

We're retiring our 727 to the graveyard, there's a spot for a new freight plane.

surely it won't be a 707 because the 727 is better when it comes to the 707 :)

What about another tri-jet but bigger like a DC-10, L1011 or MD-11? Or even copy what UPS and DHL do and use a DC-8 if you really want four engines, I mean after all Cayman Airways used to operate a DC-8.

Let me speak now before this gets to out of hand. We all know what we would "like" new exciting aircraft with excellent models for FS, example, the CaptainSim 707. However, we are forgetting that this is a real business we are running, money made on our present routes is spent on leasing our aircraft. With fuel costs continuously rising, we will be getting rid of the 727 and 737-200 because they are, fuel hogs, basically. To even consider replacing them with another tri-jet, the 707 etc. would be a bad decision on our part as they are not the direction we want to be going.
We are looking for new ways to decrease emissions, increase efficiency etc. This is why I suggest that once we retire the 727 from our fleet, we consider converting one of our current 757-200's into a freight aircraft and base it in Grand Cayman. The 757 is by far more fuel efficient then the 727, longer range then the 707, has fitted winglets to decrease emissions AND has already been leased, we just pay the conversion costs.
These are my reasons for selecting the 752 freighter, however, nothing has been finalized yet. But please, when considering new aircraft to add to the fleet, can we keep in mind fuel costs, fuel efficiency, availability of spare parts etc.
