Welcome aboard, enjoy the flight down to Key West! :capt:

Preparing for pushback in ATL, downtown in the background. Our flying time today will be about 1 hour 25 minutes down to Key West and our flightplan takes us along the western coast of Florida.

Airborn from runway 09L at ATL, flying the THRSHR6 departure and climbing FL390.

Turning on course, some neat weather!

Just south of Tampa is this very cool formation on the ground, Rotonda Golf & Country Club!

We have begun our descent in to the Keys, a few cloud layers to break through before we can see the stunning waters surrounding the islands.

Breaking out of the first layer we can begin to see some of the beautiful waters in the distance.

Turning a 10 mile final runway 09 in KEYW, this will be a full flaps landing with MAX autobreaks, for those who do not know, KEYW runway is published as 4,801ft!

Cuba far in the distance, how far? About 80nm south of where we are on final;

Fully established on final approach, what a view!

Short final!

Vacating at the very end of the runway, didn't need quite all of it, but rolled out to the end as our gate is on the far east movement.

At the gate, shut down.

Gulfstream in the background, chillin. Enjoy the southernmost point of Continental United States!

Until next time!

 Just installed KMIA and I must say, it's a really wonderful scenery. One small issue, though. It seems like rw 12/30 is the only active runway. I checked the Afcad file, and the remaining runways are not closed. Is there any way of activating all runways for departures/arrivals? Thanks for any help.

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

I hope I am wrong but I heard very important news about POSKY/FSPRO website and their freeware planes which can be important to future planning of Cayman Airways virtual airline's fleet managers and fleet painters as well as pilots.

POSKY/FSPro will close their doors on August 31, 2012 and they will shutdown their websites including their download center.

Everybody is now scrambling to download everything from POSKY/FSPro download center before it closes down.

My suggestion to you is not to panic and do not follow people's example. Just download from POSKY/FSPro download center their base models, their paint kits, and any important pertaining updates to the base models. The airline liveries will remain forever on avsim and flightsim.
V0008/12 NOTAMN

Good Day everyone,

It has certainly been a long time coming, I won't deny that. AmeriCay Airlines has finally been given the update that it desperately deserves! After carefully evaluating the operations for several months, the decision has been made to withdraw KJFK as a main hub of operations, as well as KLAS. Instead, we have decided to split in to three brand new focus cities, KDFW (Our new main hub), KATL and KMIA. We have upgraded our fleet to an all Boeing line of aircraft, 4 B737-800 aircraft and 4 B757-200 aircraft.

We serve destinations across the US, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. We have also taken the time to update our main webpage with the latest in route and fleet information, so do us a favor and be sure to check out a few documents that we have taken the time to create and upload to AmeriCayVA.com!

For a quick look at what our operations look like, take a glance;

That's all for now, enjoy the new routes and other changes! captain1 .plane

My Fellow Airmen,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce the resumption of flight service for AmeriCay Airlines! As you should know, we recently had a "ground stop" - a moment where all of our operations were ceased due to some major restructuring of the airline, and relocation of various aircraft, hubs and destinations. Some changes you may notice are the significantly modified route structure for one. Our new main focus cities include;

Dallas Ft-Worth

Atlanta

Miami

You may reference the route maps included for a nice visual perspective of the information above. AmeriCay Airlines has discontinued flying the Embraer jetliners and regional jets in favor of the Boeing 737-800 and the 757-200. We fly the aircraft on short and long hauls to aerodromes with substantial layouts and runways, with relatively routine approaches. We also fly to a few aerodromes which will challenge your piloting and navigation skills to the max! You will find ATC is frequently online for many AmeriCay Airlines routes too add even more realism and fun to the AmeriCay experience.

As always, the staff at AmeriCay is open to suggestions, we continuously monitor our forums and are available for email contact at any time. The route maps below illustrate the new AmeriCay route structure. A couple flights were intentionally omitted to reduce map congestion a bit.

I would like to thank our CEO Jon Schutte for his vision and encouragement in this process. Without his foresight, I would truly be lost. *A special thanks to the EuroCay and CaribCay directors Alastair Bird and Moses Velasquez respectively, for their help with navigational routings between our new destinations. Without these good friends in both the real and virtual world and airmen to fly our division, we would be nothing at all.*

Enjoy Gents!

Hello to all,
Its time for some updates and info on our current plans and projects for this coming Summer.

We are currently finishing SUMU Montevideo Uruguay Carrasco International airport! We are doing this beautiful airport which is known to have a very modern terminal with a wonderful shape, and also we are adding extra care with the buildings and the details making this scenery one of the most highly detailed ever released for South America, (we are hoping to) taking advantage of its size we are adding as much as we can of detail as the WIP screenshots for FSX show:

This wonderful scenery should complement our SCEL and SBGR sceneries greatly. The airport is the perfect stopping point between the two, with 851nm to SCEL and 974nm to SBGR. We are hoping to have it released by month's end.

For a better idea of where SUMU is located with respect to SCEL and SBGR, take a look;

Updates

SVMI

We are to make a small update to the sucessful SVMI Latin Hub Caracas scenery within the coming weeks based on feedback and comments, thanks to everyone for their support and their comments on our scenery, it has been wonderfully received by many of our customers.

MHTG

Also another update but more like a new version, our scenery of MHTG Tegucigalpa, will be getting a major revamp to 2012 standards, that area on approach for 02 will be completely re-done, the vast majority of the buildings in the airport and surroundings re-done, ground textures etc also. Those customers who have bought MHTG from the first of January 2012 till the release of version 2 will be getting it for free, the others will pay a small update amount. But it will be totally worth it, MHTG is a wonderful airport, and we want to transform it to current standards.

KMIA

Another update will be KMIA which will be getting after the MHTG new version an updated version, we will be trying to fix most bugs based on feedback and adding some new things such as some buildings we left out (like the Mariott hotel near Lejeune road) and many cool stuff which should make the scenery much better than what it is today, most importantly we will be working with some customers in order to improve performance, which can be bad on some systems considering KMIA is a mega airport and the area around KMIA asks for too much resources, though most customers are happy with performance already. Of course this update will be free so no charge here unlike MHTG.

****

Also very important info, one of the persons in our team is doing an airport in the Caribbean, I am not actively invoved on it, rather I am supervising making sure is as always a high quality scenery, in the coming weeks we will give further info, but for now we are likely to increase production with the work of this team member.

On my end, after doing the KMIA update I shall begin work on a new scenery for the United States, so its an K icao, and though the airport has been done by others, it deserves some justice because its one of the most beautiful (with surroundings) in the continental USA. The new airport is not a mega airport like KMIA, and is no where near Miami, something like a medium to large size airport, I am sure people will like it, I will announce after releasing the KMIA update which airport is it.

Thank you all and until next time,

Ricardo Morillo

V0007/12 NOTAMN

Good Day everyone,

I have been working on a few exciting changes to the Events Division the past few days, you will see some of these changes on the main website.

What are the changes?

We will now be hosting events every Friday night AND Saturday night. Because of your vote here;

And the results here;

These two nights were the clear winner for when our events shall be hosted in the future. What we have decided to do is host the same event for both of these evenings, this means that if you are unable to participate on Friday evening, but really wanted too, you will have another opportunity to fly the event on Saturday night, which hopefully will be a more convenient time for you. Of course the reciprocal is true as well, if unable to fly on Saturday nights, the event will be available as it has been, on Friday night, as well.

In an effort to reduce the amount of information being thrown at a visitor to our events page (FlyCay Events Page) I have created a short PDF with the details that you need to know regarding our events. This also includes Flightplan Remarks - These are the remarks that we ask that you include when joining us in our events on the Vatsim Network. Please be sure to check back at this document every now and then, we are updating it all whenever a change is made.

We now have an Events Calendar! Some of you may recall that we have created these calendars in the past, but keeping them going was always a bit of an issue. Hopefully with our current team of cracker-jack staff we can keep this Calendar up to date as it is a valuable little tool. I intend for the calendar to be launched the first of every month, and just like our PDF with information regarding events, this calendar will be updated when a new event is planned. We will still be posting events in the usual outlets, this is just a quick tool to see what we have planned for the remainder of the month.

What outlets do we currently utilize for events, and what are we intending to use in the future? Great question! We currently use the following methods of informing our pilot base of our events coming up soon;

- Event Details on our main webpage of FlyCay.com, as well as our Events webpage on the main website.
- For those of us who log on to Teamspeak you will notice a "Pop-Up" every time that you login, this always contains the latest events that we have planned this week.
- Forum posts, you will always see a post in our public forums, Events section, with all information regarding the next event we will be having.
- VAFS News, when you login to VAFS you will notice on the bottom right, a news section, we are constantly updating that section with the latest event coming up this week.
- Facebook Announcements regarding our events will be coming soon, didn't you know we had a Facebook page for Cayman Virtual?
- Twitter Tweets to be done announcing the next events we will be having. Tweets will occur on Sundays. Didn't know we tweeted the twit twot? Cayman Virtual Twitter.

We have changed our event launch time now from 00:00z to 23:00z - This means that all events are available to be flown from one hour earlier until 02:00z - This provides our pilots with a 3 hour window to depart on the event flight, and also means that for those wishing to depart nice and early, you can and be finished by 00:00z most of the time.

This concludes the major changes within our Events Division. We encourage everyone to participate in events whenever possible, they are a lot of fun! Any additional changes shall be announced accordingly.

Take care!
