New customer - new fan - KEYW...

Hey guys - just wanted to thanks for the KEYW scenery - I'm very impressed... I'm still using FS9 and you managed to pull off a great looking scenery with minimal impact of frame rates... One thing I did notice - is you seem to have a little moire effect when viewing from a distance... Have you tried one of the RE-MIP programs on the textures to eliminate this effect ??? I'll try it on my own and see if it improves the textures...

As for a request - I would love to see you tackle any of the airports in the BAHAMAS... It's one of my favorite places to fly in both real life and in flight sim...

Keep up the good work - I'm sure I'll be purchasing more of your scenery in the future...

    Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Ricardo,

I can - but - I am traveling this week and won't have access to my PC until the weekend... Maybe I can explain it...

    Again - I'm using FS9...

    By Definition:
    Moire Effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moir%C3%A9_pattern
    Mipmaps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mipmap

At a distance - textures seem to get a shimmering effect which can be pretty distracting and can be almost eliminated by creating mipmaps...

ConvImX - is a program that will create mipmaps for your textures... Shez - from "SunSkyJet" pointed me to it when they first release KPHL... They had a bad Moire effect - this program cleaned it right up and can batch processes entire directories... I used it on all my Mach-1 scenery as well... The difference should be very noticable...

Hope this helps - if needed - I'll take some PIX next weekend...

If you knew all this - please disregard...

I posted some positive feedback over at FlightSim on your product...

    Regards,
    Scott

    Hi,

I think I know what you mean, this link has the textures for the photo scenery that appears shimmering. It only happens on certain video cards but if anyone is interested here they are. Install just copy/paste to the folder fs9/addon scenery/latinvfr/Key West_KEYW/Texture

    thanks,
