About a year ago I set off on my endeavor to create a custom built PC for under $500. Well, that's failed. It's been $500 for the processor and motherboard alone!

Early 2011: Western Digital 500GB HD
Early 2011: Corsair 750W HX PSU
Summer 2011: Asus P67 Sabertooth
Summer 2011: Asus OD
September 18, 2011: Intel i7 2600k
October 27, 2011: Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM ...
